I wouldn't say mine was an amazingly lucky second guess - the word felt like a good one as soon as I thought of it. Plus I had more information than you to go on.

Edit: I have now run my first guess through my Wordle helper program. It turns out my first guess was amazingly lucky. It cut the possibilities down to 12 of which only six would be really well known and two of those are plurals. So I had about a one in four chance of hitting the right answer.

Interesting how effective that first word was. I note that while Aruntraveller and I are both 4s, we were both had 4 greens on the 3rd attempt. The word itself may lean to a certain number of sensible attempts. SteveH though was still lucky.
