Call the Midwife
« on: February 13, 2022, 10:18:54 PM »
Golly! Dramatic ending tonight, with a train crash right next to Nonnatus House, and with Dr Turner, Sister Julienne and Nancy on board! Doc T and Sister J may be gonners! A slightly unlikely scenario, though, I'd've thought - the crash was caused by the driver having what appeared to be an epileptic fit, and in that case, he'd've let go of the dead man's handle, and the train would''ve stopped automatically. I'm sure they had DMHs in 1967.
I once tried using "chicken" as a password, but was told it must contain a capital so I tried "chickenkiev"
On another occasion, I tried "beefstew", but was told it wasn't stroganoff.

Looked more as if he grasped the dead man's handle. I was reading it as a stroke/tumour.

I thought it was probably a stroke or a previously undiagnosed brain tumour & guessed he would crash the train as soon as it was apparent he was having headaches and was a train driver. Poor man. Sister Julienne & Patrick cannot die!

The poor 16 year old girl having a stillborn baby was so pitiful. She was such a little scrap to be living on her own in a dingy council flat.

I wonder if the woman in the church with glass in her eye will lose an eye.

Can't wait for next week's episode.

I love C the M, but wish they'd kill off that tiresome old bat Sister Monica Joan, and scrap the sentimental, platitudinous voice-overs by la Redgrave at the beginning and end.

Yes indeed. If they did that, I might even start watching it again.

Yes they did. However, it's a TV programme. The laws of reality are subservient to the laws of plot.

Same age as me - I turned 16 in 1967. She'd be 70 now, if she was real.
