Ian Hamilton, famous for being one of the four students who repatriated the Stone of Destiny in 1950, has died. I met Ian a few times, mainly in his capacity as a Q.C. concerned with advocacy in matters of disability rights, and found him a genuinely gentle, humorous, but deeply committed man. The events of Christmas 1950 will always be his memorial, however.
