Small group of tories, the usual suspects calling for voter ID, deride this scheme as an attack on british freedoms.

Scheme withdrawn shortly afterward.

Excessively cynical. I'm emphatically no defender of the Tories, but this sounds like a good idea to me. However, I haven't got a smartphone, only a dimphone, so it won't affect me.

It is a good idea but it costs money and after all only those with reserved places in shelters need to be informed.
