When conspiracy nuts start spouting their bollocks, the best answer is "That's what they want you to think".

I see he is professing his innocence - he's a liar of course, always has been, but no doubt the sycophantic Tory morons to whom he can do no wrong will now be crying foul.

Running away together
Running away forever
Nad and Bo
Running away from danger
Hiding from every stranger
Nad and Bo
They knew it was so wrong
They found a love so strong

Rumours swirling around that he plans to stand in the safer Mid Beds seat just vacated by Dorries. Thereby avoiding sanction from parliament (as he is no longer an MP) and a recall petition.

Can't see it myself - firstly because I cannot see Sunak allowing him to be selected for Mid Beds. Secondly if he were to stand surely we'd see a Martin Bell take 2 situation where all other parties stand aside for a single anti-corruption candidate who'd sure wipe the floor with Boris.

Sunak can't afford to let him do that - no result would be good for him.

In that case they'll be rubbing their hands in glee down Govan way!

Perhaps if Prof D's rumour about him standing in Mid Beds is right, we should start thinking of a Martin Bell type candidate. Sturgeon's looking for a new challenge and would surely be untainted with scandal and an easy sell to the other parties.

Nothing would surprise me now - hopefully the Priveleges Committee will still be free to publish their report, else the 'stitch up' bleating will persist (though it probably will anyway).

The Tory party are drifting towards Twilight Zone politics - hopefully they'll implode.

Hopefully he'll  be kicked up the arse as he leaves No10.

Chris Bryant has tweeted (and he should know) that the privileges committee's sanction would still stand regardless of Johnson's resignation. So were he to be re-elected somewhere the common's suspension would be applied at that point and would therefore trigger a recall petition in his new constituency.

If that is the case and he wants a come back he'd have been better taking the suspension and getting licked out after a recall petition - that way he'd have a clean slate for an alternative constituency in the future.

Interesting, though the possibility of Johnson being 'licked out' is somewhat off putting.

I am guessing that given the timing, they will wait to see of the recall petition for Ferrier is successful, and hold the three by elections at once. Though I think the SNP would be quite pleased if that happens.

Lots of bizarre affirmations on social media about how Johnson was removed by a kangaroo court, and how the 'counter coup' starts here. Some by current Tory MPs.

Alastair Campbell says BJ is a turd that should be flushed down the toilet

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULPRxIUEdUo

(sorry couldn't find the original interview on line, so you'll have to make do with this commentary).

This is my favourite: an interview with Dominic Grieve (ex Tory MP).

It's quite subtle but I get the feeling he's not a fan of BJ

Max Hastings on Johnson

Every word highlighting the fact that the British political system is based on tribalism and tribal values not any political philosophy.
This can only be changed by changing our voting system. First past the postencourages tribal loyalty.

My abiding memory of the character of Alexander "Boris" Johnson was of an impromptu interview by a tv journalist which concerned people rough sleeoing in shop doorways. The journalist asked Johnson what he was going to do about this problem - showing him an appropriate photo on his mobile phone. Johnson snatched the phone out of the journalist's hand, put it in his own pocket and sharply told him to go away.
Does Magna Carta mean nothing to you? Did she die in vain?
