How a Dutch tragedy made people take loneliness seriously
« on: December 17, 2023, 03:01:21 AM »
The role of technology will be interesting here. For one of my family members, the internet allowed them to have contaxt when it was physically difficult but it can also allow people to become cut off if it doesn't suit their style of interacting.

In a couple of missing persons cases recently in the news, I've noticed that the person's general and specific communication patterns via electronic media have been mentioned prominently. How best we might use such information while avoiding excessive intrusion is a challenge.
