Enjoyable musings prompted by the 20th anniversary of the release of the film.
I think film as a medium suits the depiction of memory and self much clearer than literature. It's far easier to pack the information into film than literature, see À La Recherche Du Temps Perdu. That said, given that some people don't seem to see pictures online their mind, I wonder if it is different for them.
You could do a nice little film club series around the ideas of memory and identity in film. I'd be surprised if someone hasn't done that already.
