Win for Spain, draw for Argentina v Morocco in the football. Draw for France in the rugby 7s vs USA. I think France and USA are playing this evening in the football as well. If It's a draw there, not sure what makes best of three.

Well not a draw yet between Argentina and Morooco. Goal disallowed and back for 3 minutes of added time after 15 minutes of added time on a now empty stadium. Bizarre.

If Djokovic and Nadal win their first round matches, they will play each other.

What fresh, French hell is this?

For context when I made that comment I had seen Lady Gaga's performance. Apparently, she rehearsed for two months. So I won't get back 5 minutes of my life and she won't get back 2 months of hers. I then witnessed perhaps the most badly coordinated can-can dance I have ever seen, followed by some appalling catwalk nonsense.

The whole thing was redeemed somewhat by the ending, Celine Dion (some of you will be aware I am not a huge fan of hers) was, I have to admit, magnificent and the whole balloon thing and light show was great.

I didn't make it to the catwalk. I watched later on for the slow progress of the torch - I caught up with it as Nadal sped down the Seine. I agree the balloon and Dion were great.

Superb win for France. Superb for Dupont, surely will carry the flag for France at the closing ceremony.

'Olympics commentator axed over sexist remark' - not even given the chance to apologise, it would seem.

Mens mountain bike , brilliant comeback from a puncture for our man.
Overtake on the last lap straight out of Lewis Hamilton playbook!

Enjoy watching the rowing where you see Matthew Pinsent and Katherine Grainger talking to each other, and appear like 2 entirely normal sized people.

Djokovic's win is, even for him, quite extraordinary.
