I think time will prove how good his legacy is.
I hope so. Having just written on the Eurovision thread about liking my camp with a whiff of amateurism, I read the obituary, and it clarifies that that isn't quite what I mean. Norman was, as he states, a craftsman but there is an idea of making do with what is available that is there that I admire.

Norman Corman, Roger's much underrated elder brother ;-)

I think that is right. I was looking back at some old behind-the-scenes shots of Thunderbirds and what they did with what they had was amazing. It showed so much ingenuity.

Sometimes it's the failures that I admire most. The Web Planet in Doctor Who is not the greatest but on a budget of half a crown, thruppence, and a farthing they tried to come up with choreography and language for the different I sects, while making costumes that did make it difficult for the actors to see where they were going leading to bumping into cameras were triumphs of sticky back plastic and toilet rolls.

And both Doctor Who and Corman , both Roger and Norman ;), produced tons of it.

In comments from Graham Norton, he highlighted that Olly Alexander's Eurovision commitment was months and months of work! Corman would have produced and directed 3 films or more in that time.
