Scotland V England about to start

And a draw, after good start for Scotland, because of rain.

I think it was 'no result' rather than a draw, which has a rather different meaning.

What I couldn't really understand was the decision to abandon the game at about 3pm local time. Given that the game was scheduled to start at 10:30 local time, sure they could have completed the game anytime through the afternoon and even into the evening.

Creates a bit of jeopardy for England - placing a bit more pressure on the Australia result.

Yep, thanks for the correction.

As to the abandonment there are rules about the maximum time a match may be completed in

Yes I know there are rules on the matter, but they really don't seem to make a lot of sense. When there are matches played in the evenings under lights it seems bonkers to abandon a match in the early afternoon. Tennis matches end up heading into the early hours (often not even stating until crazy times) I can't see why the rules shouldn't allow a match scheduled to start at 10:30 in the morning to complete late afternoon or early evening if weather intervenes.

Afghanistan thrash New Zealand. Not as big a shock as the US win but shocking in the ease.

England's huge win against Oman means Scotland have to take something from their match against Australia to go through, or hope Namibia take something from England.

Weather may mean USA into Super 8s though they might well make it anyway.

But then lose to Sth Africa, and West Indies huge win over US sets it up as tighter qualification than England would like though should still do it. Don't think coming first or second gives huge benefit in terms of semi final.

England through to semi final but not clear which one or who they might be playing.
