That's very funny.
My thought is that, if you want to win international tournaments, you employ the best people eligible to do each job. Since the manager doesn't have to be English, just get the best one available. I'm not sure that Tuchel is the best one available, But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until he proves it one way or the other.
I agree.
I have no idea why there is a dearth of English managers of the highest quality, but it is hard to argue that there have been any 'top' English managers for decades, given that no English manager has won any of the major club leagues (e.g. England, Spain, Germany, France, Italy), nor the Champions League, nor major international tournament (Euros, World Cup) for over 30 years. The last two being the two Howards - Wilkinson with Leeds in 92 and Kendall with Everton in 87.
So makes sense to look elsewhere for successful managers. Think there may be better managers than Tuchel - but he's won more top trophies (4, 1 Champions League; 1 Bundesliga and 2 French titles) than all English managers combined since, I think 1984 (the two Howards, Terry V in Spain and Joe Fagan with Liverpool).
