As mentioned on the weather thread, I've started digging veg. beds in my back garden. Finished one yesterday, and will start the next today. The one I've dug is to be for legumes (pea and bean family) next year, so I've just sown it with broad beans - 'Aguadulce', a variety suitable for sowing the previous autumn, to get a head start and provide an early crop next Spring. I'm following a four-year crop rotation - legumes, followed by brassicas (cabbage family) followed by solanaceae (taters and maters}, followed by everything else.
I've been planting lots of old-fashioned shrub roses in the last year or so - Gallicas, Albas. Bourbons, Portlands and Hybrid Musks. I've got a few more bare-root plants coming starting next month.
