Garry

Thank you for your advice. I read the second post before trying anything! I find that the 'enable tab' option is checked. What shall I do now?!

I had to sign in again today; anyone  kno why? even though the 'forever' option was showing.

Are we only allowed to click on the 'modify' icon once? I was going to add the following to the previous post, i.e. as a second modification, but nothing happened.

I can't find how to put things on my profile. I tried 'modify profile' but the same page came up with no links or spaces to put things as far as I could see.

No rush for answer, as usual - have to go out now for a while.

You have to hover your mouse over 'Modify profile' and choose one of the options that appears - 'Forum profile' gets you to the page where you can amend stuff.

Hi merciful-evans  8)

Glad to see a fellow Pomponian here!  I am in the north of the city, just off the island.

Pompey season ticket holder, and looking forward to an exciting season (4-1, 4-1), but won't go too far off topic!!

Thank you. I managed that! May I ask if you have any hints on how to post an avatar picture? Does it have to be a certain size?

Ah, I see you are here too, bluehillside!

Hi Susan,

<quote>Ah, I see you are here too, bluehillside!</quote>

Well somebody has to keep you on the straight and narrow my Dear!

Now, if I can just figure out how to do quote boxes over here...

As follows without the spaces:

It appears even the best of us have a blindspot!  :P

there it is at the top next to HOME

But its eay to use the quote button on a post you want to reply to, this puts all the text in the reply you are doing, so you can delete any text not relevant to your reply.

or you can use
and
like we used to!

Or in your reply click on the Insert quote button on the post you are replying to:

Darn it.

Is there a help page somewhere please to explain things like quote boxes?

just watch each time that you are typing outside the quote commands!

Hope that helps

Thank you all - I'll have a play with it.

PEARL - believe me, I make no claims to being "the best of us" and, as I'm the kind of chap who wonders why electricity doesn't fall out of the wall when I remove the plug, this blind spot is small beer!

Err..

Just joined and trying to make sense of this new-fangled style of board...

I am a refugee from the bbc and was the boards only resident dystheist, although of the 'weak' sort basically i'm not sure if I think god exists but i am sure that if he does then he must be a git - must try and sort out my profile

Well most of us here think highly of you.  :)

As a spark, I can tell you electricity doesn't fall out of the wall because of the accurate teachings of Jesus Christ  ;D

Aw shucks...

...and thanks for the joke (made me laugh out loud). I wonder if "Sparky" Marks and his whacky world of barminess will make it over here too (or is he here already?).

I'll have a look this evening - I uploaded my 'satanic gecko' picture from my home PC - so I'll check what size it is.

I don't recall a size limit, though. It is best if it's approximately square (in shape rather than content!).

NB Blue - Nick Marks is already here

Hi Susan,

Hover over Profile and select Account Settings from the box that appears - you will see a box for e-mail address

To Jakswan
I was reading a post somewhere on here from someone I know not who (I have trouble knowing who I am half the time!  ;D

They were wondering whether you would be able to keep this site going with just us regulars without new people knowing about the site.

It got me thinking that if this was the case then maybe you could post some kind of advertisment the we could download and post in Churches etc., (just a thought) I am sure that we would all be devastated to lose this one too.

cos it's really good here innit
Honey :)
