Dear Prof,
Welcome aboard
Secular choir which does sacred stuff, pardon my ignorance, but does that mean an atheist choir.
Gonnagle.
Good to see you Gonnagle
Secular choir - i.e. not linked to any religious organisation, open to people of any faith or none.
But often does the standard (and not so standard) repertoire of sacred classical choral music - Bach masses, Vivaldi gloria etc etc. About to do the Verdi requiem. But not atheist, although a concert or two ago one of our more christian members refused to sing one piece that she felt was 'anti-christian' - quite how I (and the rest of the choir) never worked out.
Dear Prof,
Vivaldi Gloria, Gloria in excelsis Deo,
Glory to God in the Highest, can't argue with that
Prof when you sing a song like the above, do you notice any change in you.
Reason I ask, a composer, famous composer, modern day composer, sorry can't remember the chaps name, he is an atheist,
I watched a documentary about sacred music and this chap said that he cannot write Christian music unless he thinks about God.
