Thanks to Shaker and JackSwan, I am now here.  I'll  get my computer teacher to put my tap-shoed feet avatar up, but will point out straight away that the feet are not my own!

My screen name is Cymrudynnion yes gramatically incorrect it shoud be dyncymro but who cares?
I am 56 years of age been married to my wife Sharon for 26 years/ I am heavily involved with my local church and sing in the chior. I am not a fundalistamist but I strongly believe we should follow what is written in the O.T., this puts me at odds with those who either are or support those who are homosexual.
In my spare time please define that some one I coach a sport. I cannot declare what the sport is due to some who do not accept my views on homosexuality threatening to report me to my sports Governing Body, Suffice to say I both Officiate and Coach in my chosen sport at National Level.

That fact alone makes it a forum worth watching IMHO...

Greetings,

I'm a late thirties agnostic, atheist father of two - my children and I are all on the autistic spectrum somewhere (which, for those of you in the know, means that my wife is both a saint and mentally deranged for taking me on in the first place...)

I work in QA and Health and Safety (yes, even more vilified than Christians, atheists and, increasingly, lawyers...) for a multinational, and am based in rural Hampshire.

Hello everyone,

I'm 27 and an atheist from West yorkshire. I posted on BBC Religion boards for about three and half years, however due to the limited opening times on the boards I was unable to post as often as I liked.

My hobbies include watching sports in particular Football, Rugby League and American Football; I enjoy music listening mostly to alternative music with my favourite bands including System of a Down, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, the Smiths among others. I'm also interested in science and philosophy although I certainly wish I'd shown more interest in these subjects when I was younger. I also enjoy playing video games in my spare time

I'm also an occasional poster on Rational Skepticism and I have registered on nglreturns

Hopefully this board can generate a decent amount of debate like the old BBC messageboards did.

Greetings all!  ;D

Like many of you, I too have drifted in with the flotsam & jetsam from the wreckage of that good ol' ship, HMS BBC Religion & Ethics. What was my BBC tag? Well, let's just say there's now a cool breeze refreshing this new forum!  8)

Professionally, I teach children aged 7-11 years, and yes: I freely share my faith with my students. When it comes to faith, I have been called many things over the years - not all complimentary by any means, but I am quite pachydermatous by nature - I like to describe myself as a Messianic Gentile because...

I am a disciple of the Jewish Messiah; I am a Gentile (born in England to non-believing parents).

I believe that the Bible is the written word of GOD, and within it, He said what He meant and meant what He said - no compromise, no concessions - and the Tanakh (O.T.) is as relevant today as it ever was. I believe that no one can come to the Father except via the one and only begotten Son, Yeshua haMashiach, who was born of a virgin, lived a perfect sinless life and freely gave His life as an atoning sacrifice - the Lamb of GOD who takes away the sin of the world, who died once and for all. This same Yeshua is revealed throughout Scripture from Genesis to Revelation. And as He instructed, one must be born-again in order to see and enter the Kingdom of heaven. Any person who rejects Him will die in their sins, the consequence of which is eternal (as Scripture details).

I believe that the modern-day state of Israel is a fulfilment of prophecy, and its immediate future is detailed in the writings of the Nevi'im (Old Testament prophets). The Church is not Israel, and has not replaced it: we Gentiles are grafted in. The so-called 'church' today is in so much of a mess, from the decaying CofE through the evangelical/pentecostal/baptist bunch - too many people have itching ears; the elect are being deceived. Gentlemen, it is time to repent and fill your lamps with oil. The One called the Sar Shalom - the Prince of peace - is coming back in power and glory! Be like the Bereans!

Well, that's my (short) introduction.  ;) I'm also a guitarist of some 30 years standing, am mad keen on Land Rovers and (for reasons that I really cannot explain) support Leeds United. Oh yeah, I also believe that atheists are really agnostics in denial.

Name's Ayub, 23, Muslim, and I live in North West London.

Like most I'm also coming from the BBC MB, wasn't on there for as long as some of the others though (only around 1 month and a half), and usualy, but not always, stuck to the Muslim topic section.

I'm a Student so spend a lot of time procrastinating when I should be doing essays, and I kinda got hooked on the BBC MB as a way to do that and still feel like I wasn't totally wasting my time, since at least I got to discuss and hopefully dispell misconceived notions about Islam.

Thank you for setting this up Jakswan

I'm an ancient Christian, now decaying in mind and body, but still keeping on keeping on.  Fresh off the BBC, and it felt horrible when it ended.  I'm an ex-academic, now loitering with intent on nothing.

Tuesday morning - and what a strange, flat feeling not to be able to go straight to the BBC CT board! So I came to this one, read new posts on page 4, clicked on page 5 .... 'Internet Explorer cannot display the page', back one, tried again, ditto, tried page 3, same thing, so back to page 4 and pressed 'Reply' and that worked. I'm pretty sure the problem is my computer and, probably, a glitch in my software too.

Anyway, I was wondering: how do I put my e-mail and web site addresses on the members list? I se(hear) there's a column for that. No rush for answer.

So now I'll post this and see if I land up on page 5!

Hi Susan

I think that is under Profile - Account Settings.

I think the Beeb will notice a HUGE decrease in hits to their website now.  Its sad to lose it, but I think it will be a great new home here!
